Ricardo Agreste: Gospel Unity

The main idea:

God has called his family to be unified in the gospel, and to work together to fulfill the Great Commission and expand His Kingdom. Often times, however, when pride, or cultural snobbery fog our thinking, we can begin to assume that we are the experts on our particular circumstances, culture, and context. We end up prohibiting our ability to be effective, efficient, and God honoring. “We always think our vision, is the only right vision.” says Ricardo. We neglect to lean on our brothers from different backgrounds, countries, and cultures to give us wisdom and insights. In this session Brazilian church planting movement leader Pastor Ricardo Agreste from Sao Paulo, Brazil sheds light on how we as the family of God, and specifically church planters, should seek to partner with our international brothers in humility to start global church planting movements.

Why you should listen to him:

Pastor Ricardo Agreste is a Brazilian church planting movement leader and President of Acts 17 Connection. He is the lead pastor of Chacara Primavera in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and spearheads CTPI, a church planter assessment and training program. Pastor Ricardo is a member of the Spanish River Church Planting family, and is our primary partner in our over 40 church plants across the Brazilian landscape.

Dony St. Germain: A Church Planter’s Reflections

The main idea:

In this riveting message Pastor Dony St. Germain tells his compelling story about the trials and blessings of doing ministry in the spiritually contested territory of Haiti, and the power that the gospel brings to save the hopeless and lost. Dony shares his testimony about the grace of God’s rescue and deliverance of his life through bombings of his church in Africa, to being nearly killed while being robbed at gunpoint late one night on the highways of Haiti, and his constant fight against voodoo witch doctors. Dony’s message is ideal for all church planters wherever their preaching of the gospel brings resistance and persecution.

Why you should listen to him:

Dr. Dony St. Germain is a world class leader and strategic partner of Spanish River Church in the island country of Haiti. Dony is the Pastor of the Dr. David Nicholas Chapel and Seminary in Jeremie Haiti and President of El Shaddai Ministries International (ESMI), a leading church planting organization based in Jeremie Haiti. ESMI has started over 60 churches, 10 schools with over 6,000 students, 10 children’s homes with over 1400 orphans, and medical clinics to serve the Haitian people. All ESMI church plants utilize micro-businesses to self-support the church, the church planter/pastor, and the local community.

Chan Kilgore: Gospel Motivation

The main idea:

In his first message “Gospel Message: From Transaction to Transformation,” Chan Kilgore deconstructs what the gospel is, what it isn’t, and how it should have an impact on all areas of our life. In this second message, “Gospel Motivation: Determining What Drives Us,” Chan constructs a gospel motivation founded on Jesus’ beatitudes from Matthew 5. Chan helps church planters think through how to create a gospel revolution in their hearts and of their people.
