I love our morning devotions. Rick Krieve plays the guitar and we all sing a few worship songs and pray together. What a great way to start the day!
Vacation Bible School
We went back to the park to have some fun with the kids. At my table we are decorating canvas backpacks. We have paint, and lot’s of crosses and Christian symbols they can put on the bags. They have been very creative and love making them. Linda and Robin are doing face painting. The kids look so cute with flowers and soccer balls painted on their smiling faces. Nancy takes pictures of them and prints them out. Then they make picture frames, they are a big hit. Judi’s table has everything they need to decorate their frames, they are so proud and love to have their picture taken with their artwork. Luca helps them make bookmarks and explain in Spanish what the colors represent. We have a team of cooks that pass out fresh orange juice and water. At about 10:30 they bring us grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. They were so good I thought it was lunch. We continue doing our activities, Carleen has a large canvas that Linda had painted a tree on and a little scene with Jesus and some children. She is having all the children put their handprints on the tree and writing their name. They will hang it in the church. After we clean up and pack up all our supplies, we get hugs and warm goodbyes from the kids, parents and grandparents. The bus takes us to the church for another home cooked meal.
Dental Care and Medical Supplies
The medical team has been working all morning at the church, there were lot of people waiting to see Dr. Ron and have Sigrid clean their teeth. Toni and Sophia are talking to patients and passing out over the counter medicines. The vacation bible school group got to go back to the hotel. The dental team had to work up until dinner.
Ending the Crazy Cycle!
Robin and Luca prepared a presentation for the evening on Love and Respect. We had a full house. The women were in one room and the men in another. I really feel like the women were connecting with the material. It is a great study. The men joined us for the second half and we got tips on how to stop the crazy cycle. It was another long but good day. We got back to the hotel at 10:30. Some went to the roof to check emails and the rest went to bed. We were going to get another early wake up call in the morning.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (NIV) If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
