Packing for the Trip

Thursday night was a packing meeting to pack the medicine and supplies for the clinic and vacation Bible school.  The Lord’s Closet team has spent the last several months gathering supplies for the trip, sorting clothing and picking outfits for the 101 children in the six churches planted by Javier Gil and the other pastors in the Cali area and they assisted in packing.  We are taking a total of twenty-one bags of clothing, medicine and supplies weighing over 1000 lbs.

Chan Kilgore: Gospel Message

The main idea:

Spanish River kicked off the annual 2011 Church Planters Conference with special guest and Network member, Chan Kilgore. In his talk, “Gospel Message: From Transaction to Transformation,” Chan unpacks what the gospel is and how it should inform and transform every aspect of a church planter’s life. Chan presents useful diagrams, pastoral instruction, and practical insights to empower church planters to be biblically grounded and gospel driven in their marriage, sexuality, parenting, finances, and more.

Why you should listen to him:

Chan Kilgore is the lead pastor and church planter of CrossPointe Church in Orlando, FL and has been a member of the Spanish River church planting family for nearly a decade. Chan has led CrossPointe to become one church meeting as three congregations with locations in Lake Nona (Chan Kilgore), Waterford Lakes (Jared Davis), and Winter Park (Jamie Hart). Chan hosts the Gospel Cohort each month with church planters and ministry leaders from central and northern Florida. Chan is also the secretary/treasurer of the Acts 29 Network.
